Still On The Water

A few weeks ago I started plein air painting again. It had been a long time and I was very fortunate to attend Kim VanDerHoek's plein air Thursday morning class. Just finished 4 weeks. It rekindled my love of being outdoors with paint and a brush. It can be overwhelming and inspiring.

Nine Months

Loved the chance to paint Denise pregnant. It happened to be an amazingly hot day. Denise sat and fell into deep thought and stillness that happens when it is too hot to move.

Fun Lov'in Guy

I started a series of dog portraits in pastel. This one is 12 x12 on ampersand board. This dog is not your happy go lucky looking guy. So when I saw this expression I just had to paint him.

Back Bay Tree Line

Thursday I had the pleasure of painting down at the Muth Center in the Back Bay. I have been painting for the last few weeks with Kim VanDerHoek's plein class. I have enjoyed this group of painters and getting a fresh eye from Kim. She has much wisdom and her cheerful easel side manner makes it a wonderfull experience.
