A Session With Autumn 12x16 oil

So much fun with this little girl and her mom. Only 3 months old and so happy and vocal. Tricky to catch her in a pose, painting from memory was important. I left the session feeling wonderful and smiling. Too cute.
I had fun with a rubber edge tool and palette knife after using a brush to layout and move the paint around.

I have been working on this off and on for a few weeks. I posted it on Facebook a week or so ago as it was nearing completion. Today I call it done. Signed it and say what ever I see after this I will carry on to the next painting as knowledge.

Riding Open Space In The OC

This is a regular scene in Santiago Oak Park. Riders, hikers and cyclists can move through some of the most beautiful land in the OC. I am grateful to have this space and access to it so close to home.

Oh The Places We Can Go

Love the lines that train tracks make as they ride off out of view. Where they can take me and what I might see. Love the idea of train travel.
This is an oil, 9x12 canvas with a high horizon line. Fun for a change. The reference drew me in because of the strong lines. That also became the challenge.
