Across the Road 5" x 7" oil

This was the second plein air painting today. I should have put the other one first ...oh well. This was quick. All my paint was out and I just did it. I played with the paint and really did not think to much about what I was doing. I like the abstract feeling.

Hi Dori! I'm so glad you found your way to my blog.
You have a great start on your blog. The paintings you completed today are beautiful! These pictures don't do them justice though.
It was great painting with you today and thanks for the good input!

Dori, Across The Road is really nice. I too like the abstract quality and the way cool shadows are coming in from the right side.
Wish I could have been there with the group!

Kim,
I know the colors just don't come across. I need to spend more time on photography, but I get so excited I want to post.

Silvina,
You just need to plan a weekend down here and come out and paint with us. It would be fun to see you. Did you see Tom's painting today...talk about abstract, very cool.

Oh, Dori. I *love* this. There's a sense of certainty in the color placement, and lots of excitement in the brush strokes. Isn't it wonderful what can happen when we get out mind out of the way?

Connie,
Thanks...it did feel good. Very free and I had all the color just sitting there. Problem I have is I don't see what everyone else sees in this little painting. I just look at it and feel very unsure. That is why these comments are so important. So thank you. I may need to talk to Talya.
