Back Road, Irvine Park 9" x 12" Pastel

Went out to do a little plein air with my pastels. That is getting easier. You can only imagine what it would be like to dump my palette box of a zillon pastels in the grass. A good majority of them are green. So I do this carefully, very carefully. I do like the option of working in pastel on site. In many ways, I am much more comfortable working in pastel than oil. I hope that will even out.

The other issue with plein air is outside temperture. It was over 100 degrees last Sunday and the shade trees were not so easy to find. I painted with my friend Kim and it made it easier to stick it out.

This turned out so well, Dori! I wish I had chosen the same view because I think your focal point works better than mine. And that path just leads you right into it.
