Onions in a Huddle 6x6 oil

These two look like they are planning something.  I am amazed at how long onions last.  These two have been around for a while.  They get more papery as they get old.
I did this on a black surface.  It takes some time to get uses to, being I normally like to work from a light to medium value surface.  Always good to try something I am not comfortable with and learn enough to make educated decisions for the next time.

Oh yes, you finished this up so nicely! Amazing how softening s few things and tightening others makes all the difference. Love this one!

Thanks Kim. We don't let the wind get us down. Although my skin feels like an onion now.

It's a challenge to capture that wonderful papery outer skin. You did it perfectly.

Hi Dori,
May I ask why you used the black surface? What are its supposed advantages/disadvantages?
The painting is just beautiful!!

The subtleties of the black surface create excellent depth. Reflections = Realism.
