Today is the day after the 4
th of July and what a beautiful day it is. I went out to paint...YES! I am a lucky girl. My dear husband encouraged and came along on my paint out. It was wonderful. He walked the dry bed and took lots of photos for me to use for painting, read a bit and then put his feet up and took a nap. I have got to say it was very nice of him to come along. What a peaceful day.
Not being out for a while I decide to try and take it a step at a time. I scraped a lot of paint off with my palette knife and used it more than ever before, which was fun. I did a second small 6x6 that I will post next. Well back to work tomorrow. I hope to get Karin Jurick's challenge done this week...will see.

Beautiful , very peaceful. I can be like your husband taking a nape there.
This is great Dori, I'm so glad you were able to get out!!
what a wonderful hubby! Love this with all those thick and juicy strokes!
Dori, this is beautiful. Tomorrow I hope to experience painting plein air with the SBBA group. It will be my first time. Your painting is alive with color and atmosphere. Terrific job.
Beautiful job, Dori.
Great painting and I love to see the thick paint. Gotta love the palette knife!
I just love how you can dive into the landscape and stay on the surface and enjoy the thickness of the paint, all at the same time!
Hi Dori! Yes, you are lucky!:) What a wonderful painting...just want to reach out and touch all that thick texture!
I love the heavy texture of the paint on the canvas and the openness of your paint stroke, free and easy.
