Mother's Day has come and gone and mine was just delightful. This is a gift I received and am still enjoying. I decide to insure my thoughtful gift by painting it, so that I might enjoy this Phalaenopsis Orchid long after I unmeaning to, kill it.
I have enjoyed painting on these long format canvas's. This one seemed to call out.
Happy (belated) Mother's Day to all.

I perused the last couple of weeks of your paintings [sorry for the overdue visit] but because of the break I was in awe and a little envious of the progress you've made in painting in the style of the Masters Dori! Beautiful job!
What a wonderful way to keep the gift! The petals are really wonderful and delicate here! Interesting canvas...I've never tried one quite so dramatic in format.
Excellent, Dori! The subject fits the format perfectly and you've done a really super job on both the cup and the flower.
I love this Dori, particularly the cup and the way you handled the polka dots.
I like it!!!
I like it, too. I just found a photo I took in the Adirondacks of NY and it just screams for the same kind of format. You've given me the incentive now to try it! Dori, you've become a wonderful oil painter and, of course, your pastels are beautiful, too.
