Coastal Cliffs of Lupinus 8x8 oil

8x8, oil, sold
Hillside of what I think are a type of Lupine flower with a northern view to Laguna Beach in the far distance.
Here I am working on atmosphere, which I find very difficult.  Judging the value of a distant range of hills or mountains can present some visual challenges.  It is with constant comparing of intensity and value that the anwser reveals itself.  And sometimes by the time I think it is right the whole scene changes with the light.

Funny you should post a Lupine painting. I was out today photographing some Lupine for a future painting I have in mind. So I come home and check the blogs and there is your piece. Lovely, too.

Not an easy task painting en plein air with the changes in light, but you are doing well. A unique view. Thanks for visiting my blog.
