Irresistible

Every time I go to Trader Joe's to shop
I can't resist the flower section right at the door as  I enter the store.  I always say there is a painting on the horizon, but most of the time I enjoy them and they die before my hand reaches for a paint brush or
a pastel.  So I got on it today while listen to a book on tape and had a great time.

This painting is fabulous! Just catching up on your blog and you've done some fantastic stuff lately. I too have a hard time resisting the flowers at our store--wish we had a Trader Joe's. You have got some skills!!

Carrie is right... It's totally wonderful!
You know.. I always feel the same way when I go to Trader Joe's. I just rarely have the courage to actually paint them. Good for you!!

Dori,
This is beautiful. You captured the beauty of the simple flowers just perfectly! I also love Trader Joe's. Very inspiring to look and hard to just choose one bunch to go home with. I try to paint them quick and then give them to my Mom:)

Wonderful composition! I love the darks in the shadow side of the painting. Beautiful backdrop for the delicate lavenders. Great job on the stems and reflection in the vase. I like how the yellow bit repeats the color in the sunflower. Very nice!
