This is Quicker, a lively, but camera shy pooch.  He is the loyal friend of a dear friend of mine.  Still working on him.  Think I am down to a few strokes. 

Onto chicken painting for DPW.  That will be a first for me.

Came across this guy while out for a walk on Balboa Island.  Not an easy task painting this bruiser.  I just love the teeth and what looks like a smile for the camera.

If you have ever owned a small breed dog, you probably experienced it's "mighty" personality.  Larger than life.  In our house there are two little dogs that rule the roost, I am embarrased to say.  They bark at anything that moves and any size.  When out for a walk they are on guard and pulling us along.  On the other hand they are totally devoted to protecting and loving us unconditionally.

Daisy 8x8 acrylic on w/c paper

Daisy was a street dog. She was so dirty when she was found they thought she was dark grey. There was great surprise to find out she was actually light in color, almost white, after her bath. She is a sweetheart and has melted the hearts of all who meet her. Once she is in your lap, she is in your heart.

This is for my nephew commissioned by my sister. I think of this great guy, grown and a business professional, with this little dog he just loves so much. It just makes me smile. I say dogs are sent to us to melt our hearts and to love us unconditionally. They don't stay long enough, but the lessons they teach stay with us forever.

In August we had the pleasure of staying with friends in the bay area while delivering our son up to San Jose State University. While staying with with them we made the acquaintance of Jerry the Korgy. I had lots of photos of this wonderful little guy. I thought I would paint the portrait in hopes of getting a likeness. The other photos I have are funny with his tung out and teeth showing. Next time I may tackle one of them.
