Spring Bloom 8" x 10"

Went to Irvine Park to paint yesterday. I drove all over that park before picking a spot to stop. I just could not make up my mind. After thinking about it I realized how uncomfortable I am to paint alone. I am so use to having someone tell me where to go and what to paint. Fear is a very debilitating thing and if I truly want to paint plein air I best get over it. Don't worry I painted very close to the entrance where the ranger was letting the cars into the park. I figured if I screamed someone would hear me...just kidding...I think.

Where is this park?

HA HA! I know exactly how you feel! Which is why I called you to come and paint with me on Saturday. Too bad it didn't work out. Next time!

This turned out well, I love the blobs of paint that are flowers. Isn't it amazing how dabs of goo can fool the eye into seeing beautiful flowers!

My Laguna painting was a challenge! The light kept changing on me and I must have scraped down the canvas several times. I'll email you a photo before I post it.

I'm glad I went though, I got my painting into the Art That's Small show and stopped by Ken Auster's studio to buy paint for the workshop. Talk about amazing, I could spend hours looking at his work!

Really nice! You varied your texture. Something I forgot to do on my plein air work. I wonder how long this took you and did you tone your canvas?
