Across the Bay 9" x 12" pastel

Busy day on Balboa Island.  Had the opportunity to paint during the kids boating and swimming school.  Very busy place.  To top off the day we had an earthquake.  I felt my easel jump and didn't know what was happening.  It was the buzz of all the walkers and island dwellers.
The day was rather overcast with a glow of the sun trying to burn through the clouds.  I have never done the Pavillion before and well, I was pleased to get it down.

Wasn't that earthquake fun?! I like the little ones.
This is wonderful, by the way.

This beautiful painting brings back happy memories, when I lived in SoCal; so does the idea of the earthquake!

Silvina...It was fun. It certainly got people talking and excited. I have not felt an earth quake for a long time. I love California!
