After The Rain 14x11

Once again it was a rainy day.  I found some photos I had taken on a late afternoon drive coming home on Santiago Canyon Road.  I love clouds.  They have a way of taking me into the moment with no other thought, but their majestic beauty.  It is a peace like no other.

Wow. Such atmosphere! Yes, I agree about the clouds, but it's also the composition -- the off-center receding telephone lines meeting the road, the car -- that helps make it evocative. Of what? Long trips? Going home? Traveling through the night?

Boy, I sure can't paint these. I hand it to you.

Dori
You sure captured the rainy, gloomy sort of lonely feeling on the road.
You are so prolific!!!!!!!!!

This is so lovely! I especially like the dark to light reflected on the street.

Beautiful light, beautiful brushwork: somehow both solid and fluid at the same time!

I love the clouds. And the painting really creates a feel that the rain has just left!

Another absolute beauty Dori. Such atmosphere....makes me want to go down that road too. You really got the light in the clouds. They look like they ARE made of air.
