The Road To The Outback, value study 6x8 oil

This is the second study.  I was pleased to have enough time to get the point across and not enough time to "noodle".  I would like to go back out and do both of these again in color or make a few color notes and use the values study, the notes and photos to do a studio piece.  This I think is my goal for 09.  I want to work on developing more finished studio pieces from my plein air paintings and studies.  Okay I said it.

Your value studies are really good. I wish I took more time to stop and do some of these. I get too impatient and want to paint with color!
Goals work, especially when you put them in writing out there for all of us to see! I think you should absolutely paint these two studies ... they will make beautiful paintings and you have already nailed the values!

These are great. I do think the value studies are really helpful...we should all do more of them.
I'd be interested to know how exactly they help you when you do them in color. Share your thoughts with us on this.
Me too, regarding your goal. I will be cheering you on. Then I'll do it. :)
