Unfinished Kimona Girl

After posting my painting the other day I went back through my small camera that I carry and found a photo I took earlier in the day.  It is so much fresher than the so called finished one.  There is a lot to be said about knowing when to stop or going on to the next.  This is very much undone, but it is so much more exciting then the overworked one of my last posting.  Lesson learned...I hope.

I think it looks good JUST like this. Great light.

Ah, this has a lot more light! At this point it looks like all it needed were the finishing details.

I think this has a really lovely look. I like how the painting lets my imagination fill in the details that are missing. It makes the painting much more mysterious and in turn sexy.
I have actually asked Eliot to paint something similar to this for me- of a woman's body, slightly blurred and undone, so that you have to look for a while to figure things out and interpret them on your own.
