Clinging

This 6x6 oil is another go at my little pot in more direct lighting.  I called it "Clinging" because the little nectarine looks like it is clinging to the pot.  I am not sure if the space between the pot and the nectarine is believable.  I have a few ideas on how to correct the problem, but I thought it would be fun to hear from you.   What do you think?

I was too busy admiring the beautiful colors in your nectarine to notice. I think though that you are correct...the nectarine seems too close to the pot. I'd be interested in seeing what you do to change that. That pot is beautiful, by the way!

I really like your pot in this.

What do I think? If the light was coming from the left, I think the reflection of the pot would come down behind the reflection apple, therefore creating space. The reflection of the apple appears too large.

Hi Dori,

I think you're right about the nectarine being too close to the pot. I'm not sure how you would fix it. Maybe bring it forward and make it smaller? Changing the direction of the light would put some shadow from the nectarine on the pot and that might be better.... It's a good exercise, to say the least! The pot is beautifully done, as is the nectarine. Certainly worth the effort!
