Pleasant Afternoon

Pleasant Afternoon is the product of an afternoon painting session in Cynthia Grilli's backyard.  There were seven of us painting and just enjoying a beautiful day.  Everyday I get to paint is a beautiful day.

STEPHANIE

10x8, oil, nfs

This is lovely Stephanie.  It is always wonderful to paint, draw or just observe life.   Today was a good day.  Stephanie was our model at a life painting session.  All I can say is it was fun.  I enjoyed every minute.

JAKE

6x6, oil

This was a quickie at the end of the model session on Monday.  I totally loved just putting down the paint.  My thing for the day was mixing shadow colors and revisiting values.  A day is just not enough.  Just about the time I start discovering, the day is over.

Fluff 14x11 oil

Had a model day this week. I cut it to a quick draw because I didn't get there till lunch and had to leave before it was over. So I approached it fast and furious. I have been painting in acrylic with primary colors for the past few week and it came out here. When I got home I calmed it down a bit. I had to think about warm and cool and realized with all the fun I have been having that I have disregarded the importance of warm against cool. This is still very warm. You can only imagine what it was.

Patty 16x12 oil

This was a model day a few weeks ago that I did not finish.  I even wiped off the face.  I finally thought I needed practice and needed to finish her or paint over her.  I worked from a photo Patty allowed me to take of her.  It is not a good likeness.  I will keep up with the figure work and hopefully I will get better.
