FALL
6x9, oil, $90.00
Recently I was in Portland for a workshop and had the wonderful opportunity to experience Fall in the Pacific Northwest. Unbelievable color everywhere. It was a delightful gift to see. I could not take enough photos of the neighborhood leaves falling on the wet streets after the rain. I love seeing the atmospheric conditions in other places. The light is so different. It was a great trip.

"CAROLYN'S PERSPECTIVE"
16x8, oil on raymar canvas panel, $185.00
I enjoy the quiet view into a city street. The sharp angled shapes breaking up the canvas are interesting. Chicago streets are truly beautiful. They have lovely planters and trees lining the streets.
Last summer we visited Chicago and had a chance to spend some time with a good friend of my sons. This is the view from her balcony.

"SIGHT SEEING"
10x10, oil on panel, $140.00
Chicago is just a wonderland for art. "Eye" by Tony Tasset at Pritzker Park in the loop is a sight to behold. Emerging from the subway at Jackson and State we found ourselves in view of this monumental work. What a fun exhibit to see in the middle of the city, surrounded by buildings, overhead trains, restaurants and so much more.

All Wired and Cabled to Go! 8x8 oil on canvas
Oh, how I wish I was there. A trip on cable car sounds like fun. This is the current challenge on Lee Brown's, "A Day Not Wasted". I love an opportunity to paint something out of my daily life. Public transportation like this is just not available in the OC.
I did quite a bit of editing and cropping from the original photo and hopefully made it my own. I am challenged by reds and the suggestion of pedestrians waiting to ride the cable car. So this was a perfect challenge for me.
I could only think, that if I were getting on a cable car, that I would have coffee in one hand and a newspaper in the other to enjoy my ride.

Felix's Continental Cuban Cuisine 4x6 oil
Cuban cuisine is just so tasty and we have one of the best in old town Orange. This little gem sits right in the plaza and has been a part of the downtown for over 27 years.
This was a busy little piece to get onto a small canvas. I did edited a lot, but did not want to lose the identifying details that says, Felix's.

Sidewalk Talk 6x8 oil

It was a sunny day , but the wind was kicking up my easel and just poking at me. It is not easy to make a deliberate detail with a brush. I gave up and stopped at the block in.
It was good to be out in the company of Kim Vanderhoek and Dana Cooper. My painting has just been off. I figure I need to be out twice as much and just don't have the time. So patience and enjoy the paint, the view, study time and the company. Funny I uses to think painting cleared my head and now I think I need a clear head to paint...go figure.
