Morning in the Creek 14x11 oil

I made a few changes based on some suggestions I got. (above)

I was out in Irvine park on the first real good day in a while.  It was clear and not windy and not too cold.  This is a north facing view.  In an attempt to push myself I decided to work bigger.   I was not able to finish on site and worked on it more at home.  I had trouble with values and then color and in working on it  at home I feel I lost that freshness of working fast on site.  I don't believe that it is finished and I really don't know what to do.  It just does not have the excitement that I felt getting out and painting.

Koi Pond 12x9 oil

Painting Koi underwater with reflections is not easy.  And I can't say that I understand all that is involved.  I need to deconstruct the layers and spend more time understanding what is going on.  I worked from a difficult photo with too many reflections and no order.  Learning to edit and working with good photos are two very important things to consider in the process of painting.
I don't feel this is a finished piece at all  and I know I don't want to spend anymore time working out the problems.  Posting it sort of ends the torment and lets me move on.  So  will I try to paint this type of subject again?  I will when I have better photos.

Boat House, Irvine Park 9" x 12" pastel

The boat house is a neat little building that houses all the peddling boats at Irvine Park.  It sits at the far end of the small lake and is a basic rectangle building.  It has a lot of roof that catches the light nicely.  It is difficult to compose.  There is either the building and tall trees or the buildings and a lot of lake.  Today there were very nice reflections and so I picked the lake to work on leading to the boat house.  It was so pleasant under the trees.  It was a wonderful day.  The photo has toned down the color more than I like, so I uploaded another one with a color adjustment.  Somewhere between the two is the true color, leaning toward the top one.  The roof has more of a coral color to it.  One of these days I will learn the photo editing program.
